The Salvador International Airport, with a capacity to receive up to 6 million passengers per year,
is the main gateway into the Northeastern region of Brazil, with international weekly flights arriving from
South America (Argentina, Chile and Uruguay), Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal,
Spain, UK and Switzerland) and North America (Miami, New York and Toronto).

Salvador, which became the first capital of Brazil in 1549, is known for its outstanding architectural
and natural beauty. To many, Salvador is regarded as the center of Brazilian culture. With more than 3 million inhabitants from diverse ethnic groups, it is the third largest city in Brazil and the capital of the state of Bahia.

The climate
The climate is characterized by a few months of rain and a long period of sunshine. The weather can be warm and sunny when it is raining in nearby towns. Along most of the seashore, the climate is considered humid and tropical, and there is no dry season. August, September and October have the least rainfall. Firmly established as one of Brazils most important holiday destinations, it is currently a place for leisure and entertainment, with average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 33°C.

In harmony with nature

The SAUIPE RESORT owes its magnificent landscape to the flora and fauna native to the area. The development of this project was based on the guiding principles of respect for the environment and the preservation of the natural world. The construction of the SAUIPE RESORT also includes programmes to save and protect the local flora and fauna.

The Parque Sauipe, a nature conservation area covering 66 ha, has been established as a foundation and replanted with around 50,000 trees.

Giant turtles, whales and rare birds will delight nature lovers on the Costa Sauipe, as you will be living here with over 144 different plant species and more than 115 types of birds. The Costa Sauipe is one of the most important breeding grounds for giant turtles on the Brazilian coast.

Excursions and expeditions
Various tours and excursions are available in the Parque Sauipe and in the surrounding area, such as bird watching, whale watching by boat or a trip in an off-road vehicle to the "Blue Lagoon".

Highlights also include an expedition along the River Imbassai with a rowing boat grip along the untouched section of the river, or even wild water rafting.
